Fancy Creek Remeander

Fancy Creek Remeander

After securing a WDNR Surface Water Planning Grant administered by Southwestern WI Regional Planning Commission, EOR worked closely with several project partners including Natural Resource Conservation Society (NRCS), Trout Unlimited (TU), Wisconsin DNR, and WI Wetlands Association staff to begin the remeander design of a formerly ditched channel along Fancy Creek.

The project will redirect flow from the deeply incised ditch back into the historic meandering channel, thereby improving wetland and in- stream habitat while also attenuating flood flows and reducing impacts to downstream resources (Pine River). Initial, conceptual design services included a hydrologic and hydraulics assessment, hydrogeological investigation, and review of potential final design and implementation funding.

After securing funding through TU and NRCS, EOR will complete the final design and project implementation (scheduled for 2024/2025).

Client Benefits
