Grindstone Dam Removal EIS
EOR prepared an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to remove a dam along the Grindstone River near Hinckley, Minnesota. EOR modeled the hydrologic and hydraulic effects of the dam removal and evaluated the related potential effects such as the lowering of groundwater levels, downstream erosion, and changes to the area's recreational opportunities. The Minnesota Dept. of Natural Resources (MN/DNR) provided additional data that EOR revised and incorporated into the final EIS document.
This extensive project included weekly meetings with the client throughout the project and the production of monthly progress summaries which allowed EOR and the client to monitor and manage the project closely. In addition, EOR responded to all the public comments on the proposed project.
