Responsibilities
- Client relationships – develop, manage, and maintain client relationships.
- Marketing – identify and actively pursue project opportunities resulting in securing work.
- Project Management – effectively manage multi-discipline project teams
- Staff Supervision – provide for staff growth through nurturing staff in a respectful, collaborative approach that promotes individual professional growth and positive team spirit.
- Group growth – assist the group leadership in developing and implementing a strategic growth plan for the market including short and long-term action plans and financial goals.
Education/Experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil or related engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with an emphasis in managing parks, green infrastructure and/or redevelopment projects
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the the State of Minnesota or have the ability to become licensed within 6 month of hire.
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Excellent organization, technical and analytical skills
- Excellent supervisory and team building skills
- Proven ability to manage projects using AutoCAD/Civil 3D
Education/Experience preferences:
- Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling experience
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to provide own means of reliable transportation for occasional day trips.

This position includes management of projects and supervision of a diverse team of engineers and scientists, completing water resources/civil engineering and related technical assignments. Project oversight may include hydrologic analysis related to stormwater planning and flood control; water quality analysis in urban and/or rural settings; hydraulic analysis and design related to rivers, streams, conveyances, dams, and other hydraulic structures; preparation of technical reports, construction plans and specifications. Position will include acting as a company liaison to clients, permitting agencies and public officials. Attendance of evening meetings will be routine.
Successful candidates will have:
- demonstrated expertise in technical writing and quality control of deliverables
- strong project management skills and experience with supervision of multidiscipline technical teams
- familiarity with federal, state, and local water rules and statutes
- strong data analysis skills
- experience in development and review of water quality and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling
Primary Responsibilities
- Use stormwater models to assess and optimize stormwater management systems performance
- Identify phosphorus load reduction opportunities, estimate BMP efficacy and progress towards TMDL load allocations
- Inform preliminary and final design of stormwater BMPs such as infiltration and biofiltration basins, iron-enhanced sand filters, and stormwater treatment wetlands
- Assess resiliency of existing stormwater infrastructure to climate change and future development
- Optimize stormwater conveyance system design to mitigate flooding
- Support development of stormwater models (hydrologic/hydraulic and water quality) and analysis of stormwater conveyance systems (Pipe-flow and Open Channel hydraulics)
- Process GIS, monitoring, and survey data for use in stormwater modeling
- Process field collected data for input into stormwater modeling software
- Construct and refine model components
- Calibrate and validate model outputs to observed data
- Assist with collection of water quality samples and stream flow measurements
- Aid in the watershed district regulatory programs
- Review development construction plan sets and stormwater calculations for conformance with stormwater, floodplain, wetland, buffer, and erosion control rules
- Correspond with watershed district staff and permit applicants
- Assist with watershed district rule revisions
- Assist with capital improvement project feasibility vetting, preliminary, and final designs
Education/Experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in environmental engineering with an emphasis water resources
- 10+ years of water resource engineering experience with a focus on hydrology and/or water quality
- 5+ years of experience with client management and business development
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Education/Experiences preferred:
- Post graduate degree preferred
- ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD experience and knowledge preferred

As the lead Land Surveyor, you will join a welcoming team that embraces advanced technologies, flexible work environments and embodies environmental, social, and fiscal sustainability in everything we do.
This position will engage collaboratively across all EOR’s offices and services areas to provide land survey services. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively manage time and resources in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines.
Essential Functions
- Research and obtain documents/data including: Gopher State One Call utility locates, section corner ties, plats, control points, benchmarks, as-built plans, zoning information, FEMA maps, aerial mapping, etc.
- Lead deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparations, legal descriptions, and computing survey points
- Lead topographic and boundary surveys, ALTA/ASCM surveys, elevation certificates, volume surveys, construction staking, etc.
- Assist design team with CAD productions and base drawing set up
- Perform pre-construction staking, construction staking and as-builts
- Consult with clients, project managers, team members and site superintendents/construction crews on projects
- Complete QA/QC and redlines checks
- Coordinate and work with field crews and other office staff
- Provides strategic leadership of company surveying services.
- Assist in market development activities, such as reviewing RFPs and generating estimates and proposals
Required Qualifications
- Registered Land Surveyor Licensure in MN or ability to obtain within 6 months from date of employment
- Bachelor’s degree in land surveying or related civil engineering technology
- Minimum of 5+ years of related professional experience
- Diverse survey experience and interest (civil infrastructure, water resources, renewable energy, and land development)
- Experience with Trimble Equipment/Software
- Fluency with AutoCAD and GIS
- Passion for the environment and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned company is a must
Beneficial Qualifications
- Experience in project management.
